Blog Talk Radio Gay Discussion

Blog Talk Radio will have a discussion going September 7, 2008 at 7:00 PM. The show is scheduled to last one hour and should be informative. The number to call is 347-677-0774.

The hot topic will be – Is it more accepting to be a lesbian than a gay male?

The show will be talking about the pros and cons of being a gay make verses a lesbian. It should be quite interesting to listen to and see what the speaker has to say.

I do think it is easier to be a lesbian than it is to be a gay man in our society. That being said still does not make it right. Ones sexual orientation should be no one else business but the people in a relationship. Whether a person is a gay man or a straight man should not be a discussion. Unfortunately, it is and will continue to be a hot topic.

I am hoping to make the talk show as soon as I find out the time zone for the 7:00 PM call.

Gay Straight Alliance In North High School

I just got word that one school in the city I live in will be having some great things going on this year. It seems that the leader of the group when away this summer to attend a leadership training and learned a great deal. She is working on some very interesting things for the coming year besides the Day of Silence, World Aids Day and Ally Week.

To start the school year out the GSA placed a table out for freshman orientation and donated raffle bags. The brochures and other reading materials will tell the freshman coming into the school all about the group. The group seems to have everything taken care of and should have a good year and some new members.

I look forward to talking to her and finding out what some of the other things are that she has planned for the school year.

News Break For Today

Although this happened a while ago, it is still important that everyone realizes the stupidity and discrimination of anyone whether they are gay or not. Just advertising a website called lesbian.com on her shirt got a young woman ejected from a Los Angeles courthouse by a private security guard. He said the shirt was inappropriate and kicked her out. Her mother called Los Angeles police and complained and the girl was allowed into the courthouse. The police said that they would contact the security guards employer and have the matter taken care of.

The Family Institute of Massachusetts will not collect signatures to appeal the ban lifted on out of town gay marriages because they feel that they would not win anyway. If they had collected enough signatures, the law would have been voted on in the 2010 vote for that state. This means that the new law stands. Same sex partners from out of state can marry in Massachusetts.

The News From New York

The courts of New York say that Governor David Paterson was within his right as a governor to issue the order making it mandatory for government agencies to recognize same sex marriages preformed in other states or countries such as Canada. The State Supreme Court justice Lucy Billings upheld the ruling that Paterson was within his right to issue such an executive order.

This means that people living in New York who marry in Canada, Massachusetts or California as well as any other state that may allow same sex marriages, are a married couple in New York, their home state. A suit was filed in June opposing the order and the court has upheld the ruling that would ban same sex marital status for New York residents.

New York Governor David Paterson is working with his state to make it possible for same sex couples that marry to receive the same status of heterosexual married couples. His stand on equal rights for married same sex couples should be applauded and not opposed.

Judge Lucy Billings said with confidence, “When partners manifest the commitment to their relationship and family, by solemnizing that commitment elsewhere, through one of life’s most significant events, and come to New York, whether returning home or setting down roots, to carry on that commitment, nothing is more antithetical to family stability than requiring them to abandon that solemnized commitment.”

Congratulation New York and Judge Billings and David Paterson on moving forward into the twenty-first century.

Lesbian Kiss Results In One Month In Jail

Dubai Beach in the UAE is no place for a lesbian kiss or you could go to jail for one month. Yes, a lesbian kiss on the beach in public has put two women in jail for one month because someone called the police to inform them the couple was kissing. Just a few months prior to the lesbians kissing, a man and a woman were arrested for having sex on the beach. They are still awaiting trail and face six months in jail and a fine followed by deportation.

I guess you cannot kiss on the beach in the UAE and if you do, you could go to jail for it.

A Day Without Politics

Could you imagine if there was no discrimination, hate and politics for just one day? The world would be such a nice place to live. It would be a beautiful day in the neighborhood. People would smile and say hello to everyone they meet. Hand gestures would be a wave of kindness and not something hateful. Politics would seize to be heard and life would revolve around love and peace. Gays, heterosexuals, blacks, whites and every being on earth would mingle and mix with society and be accepted.

There would not be one word about anti-this or anti-that. There would not be a bad word said about the way people live or what people do. A day without politics would be peaceful and enjoyable. No one could say a bad word about anyone or anything. There would not be any discussing about marriage or pregnancies. There would not be anything said about boycotts or God. People would go about there days with joy.

A day without politics would be a picnic in the sun. Everyone would be talking about his or her families and how much fun they have. People would be talking about upcoming social events and gatherings instead of watching television to see what he said, she said.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see everyone getting along without discrimination and hate towards everyone who is different? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a day without politics and so much turmoil?

Some Republicans Support the NO Vote on Proposition 8

California has some backing on voting NO on Proposition 8 by some Republicans. It appears that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is ready to vote NO along with Mayor Jerry Sanders of San Diego, Mayor Mike Gin of Redondo Beach, and Mary Cheney. Not only government officials will be voting NO, but also it looks like many people are going to allow gay marriages to stay active in California. There are many council people that have also said they will be voting NO.

This will mean that California gay marriages will continue and those who want to get married can go to California and tie the knot.

Not only do some Republicans support gay marriages, recent polls found that people would be voting NO in November. It seems to be overwhelming that gay marriages will continue. By voting NO, people are saying that the gay community will have the right to marry. This will be a big accomplishment for the gay community and all Californians.

It will mean that people are finally opening their minds and not judging people for their sexual orientation. Just remember to vote NO in November no matter what anyone tells you. It is always nice to take a step forward rather than backwards.

American Family Association Family Values

The American Family Association says that they have the family in mind. This is why they do the things that they do. The problem is that they swear to have family values in mind when protesting the gay and lesbian community, but they are in turn trying to take away from the family by discriminating against the gay and lesbian community.

A family is what you make it, not what your sexual orientation is or is not. Gay and lesbian persons have families. The AFA is hurting these families by inflicting discrimination on their loved ones who are gay or lesbian.

Many people will disagree that the American Family Association is hurting the family, but you have to consider what they are doing and how they are doing it. By discriminating against gays, they are affecting the families of gay persons. It may not be directly, but it does. If your son or daughter, cousin, or grandchild is gay, the protesting of the AFA affects you as well.

If the AFA wants to protect the family, they should start working on issues such as abuse, war, poverty and lack of education. Sexual orientation should not be the concern of anyone except the person or persons involved.

Two Things About Sarah Palin We Can Believe

Sarah Palin is against same sex marriages.

Sarah Palin was all for the killing of wolves in Alaska by air.

Now, this is a blog that talks about gay issues, so you might under what wolves have to do with gay issues. I love wolves and I accept gay people for who they are. Those are two important things to me. Sarah Palin is shaping up to be the one who agrees with killing the wolves and keeping the marriage debate as is between a man and a woman. It is no wonder McCain picked her as his Vice President choice. She gave a speech yesterday and I found her to be out of touch with reality on some issues.

If they think that she can convince the voters she is another Hilary Clinton, they are sadly mistaken. She is not in the public eye and has no experience with the issues of the world. I think Obama should have elected to have Hilary as his Vice President, but he picked someone else that may make a difference where hate crimes and gay issues are concerned.

Back to Sarah. She explained her reasons for allowing the killing of wolves. She said if the wolf population grows, it would hinder the moose and caribou populations, which are what Alaskans, keep in their freezers. Have they ever thought about going to the store and shopping like the rest of us do? I have nothing against hunting, but to make a statement like that does not make you look very credible.

Sarah says she has gay friends, but no one has ever met any of her gay friends. Are they hiding in the closet? Literally speaking. She is against same sex marriages so that will not affect the McCain campaign. He is against same sex marriages as well. Sarah is for the businessman and so is McCain. Her husband works in the oil industry in one capacity. Sarah said that would not affect her judgment. Do you believe that?

Nothing against family, but she has a new baby with Downs Syndrome and is your every day soccer mom. When will she find time for her work if she is spending all her time with her family or her family if she is spending all her time working?

Well, I guess there is only one conclusion. Obama is going to be our next President.

Newspapers Accept Gay Marriage Announcements

The newest thing to complain about is that many newspapers around the country accept gay marriage announcements. It seems that when someone has to much time on their hands they scour the web looking for something to try and stir things up. The latest is newspapers that willingly allow people to post their marriage announcements and they are gay.

This is happening in states where marriage was defined as between a man and a woman not two people of the same sex. Yes, someone went to great lengths to make this announcement in hopes that people will call their respected newspapers and demand they follow the rules. Newspapers, I do believe can print whatever they want to because they still believe in freedom of speech and freedom to express yourself.

On the lighter side of this is the fact that Hallmark is making gay marriage cards and it is looking like Proposition 8 is going to be a washout. Yes, many of the people polled could care less about gay marriages. They have no intention on voting down the now allowed gay marriages in California. Now, if the people of Arkansas would wake up and vote down the ban on gay adoption, everything will be on the right track.

What do you have to say about all the political tactics going on with gay adoption and gay marriage?
