California Fighting Gay Marriages On The November Ballot
Just when you think California is finally going to be set for gay marriages, they receive enough signatures to put gay marriages to a vote in November. Why can’t people just accept people for who they are and let them live their lives? There is even a city clerk in California that said he was going to be the first one to apply for a marriage license. The newest development cannot stop the marriages that will take place starting June 17, so isn’t that going to be a kick in the pants.
Gay marriages in California are going to be put to a vote and people the preach the bible as a reason for banning gay marriages will once again have a vote as to how others can live their lives. How can governments let this happen. Some will tell you that they have nothing against gay people; they just do not want them to marry. If someone told you that you could not marry a man or a woman because they are different or because they do things against the bible, would you listen? Would you feel this is fair? Would you be accept this and let it slide because they think they know better.
I do not know of any of the heterosexual couples that would like to have their freedom to marry taken away just because someone did not like their preferred partner. So why do it to people that are gay? Sex or gender does not have anything to do with whom you can love. People need to take a long hard look at the government and their neighbors who say the bible says so because they do not follow everything the bible says or they would not be discriminating against gay’s rights to marry.

I have never seen what the big deal is about gay marriage. And, if bible thumpers are going to say that gays shouldn’t be married because the purpose of marriage is to procreate, then it should also be illegal for married couples to use birth control. And if a couple can’t conceive, then their marriage should be annulled.
Any two people who are in love, regardless of sex, religion or culture should be able to get married, simple as that.
I agree with your points. These people that are against it do not realize that they could be the next victims as you say. If you cannot have kids, then you cannot be married. People that quote the bible are only cutting there own throats.
Birth control is prohibited, any type of body alterations to prevent birth control as well. You are only supposed to have sex to reproduce and not for pleasure.
Um, I wonder how many follow this to the tee?
Someone made the point to me the other day that if homosexuality were a sinful temptation wouldn’t all people be gay? AND THEY ARE NOT ALL. I’m a straight man and no amount of prompting could ever make me want to be with a dude.

I knew this was coming. They couldn’t just let it go.
I don’t understand. I have gay and lesbian friends who if they found the person that they wanted to spend their life with, they should be able to do so by getting married like everyone else. I can’t imagine someone telling them that they can’t, it’s just horrible.
I am so very sorry to hear that. Everyone should have the same rights to happiness, no matter what the bible may say.
I hope when the time comes for the vote, enough people with a sense of what’s right get their voices heard. It is about time this has happened, and it shouldn’t be struck down.
The good thing is that the higher court refused to stop the June 17 date for marriage licenses to gay couples, so couples will be able to marry up to the vote. That could actually help with the vote.
But it will cause yet another problem I think. How will they recognize the gay marriages if the vote bans gay marriages?
