Accepting The Gay Community
Many years ago, my grandmother lived across the street from two gay men. Her first experience of seeing two gay men together was in a restaurant and bar combination. Grandma was set in her ways and could not believe what she was seeing. There were two men holding hands while they were talking and eating. I had to explain to her that the once popular eatery had now become a gay bar, but still served the good foods that she liked.
Now my grandma could not believe that this was going on in the world. When the two men bought the home across the street from her, she was a little skeptical until they invited her over to see what they had done with the inside of the house. She also enjoyed the flowers and landscaping they had outside. Grandma soon became good friends of these two men and enjoyed their company. She was always talking about what they were going to do next and what their Christmas plans were and such.
My grandma was a church going person that volunteered at the church doing many things. She was still able to accept these two men and call them a friend. She never had a bad word to say. They were very good to her and often shared bakery items with her. She was very happy to be friends with them.
People can believe in what they want such as the church and still be accepting of others and their lifestyle. It does not matter what anyone thinks, same sex relationships and marriages are going to continue and people need to accept that. Believing in the church does not mean discriminating against others for the way they live. A ninety-year-old woman accepted gay people, so what is wrong with the rest of the world.

I love it. what a great post!
