They expected over 400,000 people and I think they may have had
more. The parade was spectacular even under partly cloudy skies. The theme for the parade was “Live, Love, Be Proud.” Ex-marine, Eric Alva was the grand marshal for the parade. He is a gay rights advocate from Texas. Eric came out in 2007. He was the first injured American in the Iraq war. Here are some
pictures courteously of Schmidty, a friend who was fortunate enough to see the parade in
Chicago. The parade was one that many people came out to see and enjoy. Since June is the month of Gay Pride, cities everywhere had a parade for everyone to enjoy.

It has to make you think about love and support. Everyone who attended was happy and able to see what love, life and pride is
all about.
In California, the Gay Pride Parade was led by Dykes on Bikes wearing a wedding dress and a wedding veil tossing bridal bouquets. The mayor Gavin Newsom received applauds from the spectators as he rode by. He worked hard to overturn the ban on gay marriages.
In New York, Patterson was appauled for his support of the gay community. He is trying to get a law passed that would make the state recognize gay marriages from other states. It just seems like everyone is trying to help, but a few.
