Brandon McInerney Arraigned This Week For Larry King Murder

Brandon McInerney will be arraigned this week for the murder of Lawrence King. Larry was shot two times in the head for asking Brandon to be his Valentine. Some have questions as to if Larry King was really gay or was he a confused teen. They wonder if his murder could have been prevented. They wonder if schools are ready to handle kids who come out while still in school.

The answer to all questions is yes. Larry was gay. Yes, his murder could have been prevented by education. Yes, schools can handle kids that come out if they actively support the Gay Straight Alliance. This is why the Gay Straight Alliance is so important. It gives kids somewhere to turn when they feel a need to talk. If Brandon McInerney would have been educated about the different sexual orientations, he may not be going to prison for the rest of his life this week.

Having an organization such as the Gay Straight Alliance in schools, opens the doors to communication and understanding. Trying to keep the group out of schools is putting everyone’s life in danger. It is about time the world wakes up and sees what is going on around them. Gay and lesbian people are part of society and they are not going away. People need to stop fighting against something they do not like because it does not fit in with their perfect lives.

The vice principle at the school that Brandon and Larry attended is a lesbian and often talked to Larry. Now they have questions about her. Why? She is a person just like everyone else. She did not make Larry King gay, she talked to him as a person. The vice principle did not make Brandon pull the trigger on the gun that killed Larry.

If the Gay Straight Alliance had been present, maybe Brandon would have talked to someone and found out how to say, “No thank you, I do not want to be your Valentine, I am straight.” Larry would still be alive and Brandon would still be playing basketball looking at a bright future.

thats true. but you also have to factor in some other stuff. first of all, he came from a shit home. 2nd, he was a violent child in the first place. idk if he would have a bright future, but wouldnt be arraigned for murder in the first, the worst of murder crimes. especially since its also a hate crime. thanks for the article anyway.

I just read the Newsweek article about this last night. Heartbreaking. Two lives lost here because of ignorance.

It’s so sad that someone had to lose their life over ignorance. The real issue with any hate crime is that tolerance and acceptance needs to be taught from home early on.
