What Do You Do When A Christian Comes Out

Published by blondiewrites at 9:57 am under Lesbian kissing, gay kissing Edit This

What do you do when a Christian comes out? Do you think about ways to convert them? Do you find the nearest bible and pray for them? Do you try to talk them out of living this kind of life? Do you simply forget about it and go on as you have as friends?

Most people will tell you that you cannot be gay and a Christian. This however is wrong. As long as you believe in a God, you are a Christian no matter what your sexual preference is or is not. There is no way to pray a gay to be straight. Although some will tell you that this is possible, it is not.

Acceptance is the only answer. Never judge someone for being who they are or you are not a Christian. This the bible tells me so. People who judge others are not practicing their religion the way they should. Lesbian kissing or gay kissing is not for you to judge or watch for the fact. If a straight couple would kiss in front of you, would you stare and judge?

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. There is no one on the earth that is pure and free of any sin. Everyone has their flaws and have no room to judge anyone else. People that judge are the ones that have something to hide. Think about it?

You are 100% right on all counts! This whole subject is hugely important to me as a lesbian who is also a Christian! Thanks for your post!

I am glad you stopped by for a visit. It is important to be accepting and not judge people. You wil find many people that say that you cannot be a Christian and gay, I highly disagree.

Amen! I have heard gay bashers hide behind the bible and quote stories about sodomy. A) then lesbians are off the hook, yes? And what about straight men that like to enter through the back door? I know many do.
    B) If we are going to quote the old testament in this way, do these same people also quote the bit of the bible that states a woman who is menstruating is to be kept in doors and not allowed around others (I know I could make jokes about this, but I am being serious, so I won’t). Should we start the witch hunts again because the bible also says suffer not a witch to live.

    It’s all about interpretation.

God is about love and acceptance. A church might ban you, but that does not mean you are not Christian because as long as you believe and trust in Christ, you are a Christian regardless of who is in your bed and your heart.

Go Kelly. You have it all summed up. I actually had forgotten about some of things that the bible says that make no sense.

Absolutely right!! Also the bilble says we should not judge anyone for that is for God to do. I think most people have forgotten this one. It is wrong to judge others, yet daily we are all guilty of it.

We need to understand that not all people are the same and each has their own way. It is not for me or anyone else to tell any one how to live.

I find the quickness to judge and condemn to be the least Christian-like acts that many Christians seem to indulge in, and I don’t get it. What about love thy neighbor? What about the points cincin makes? These are what I believed Christianity to be about - then I grew up and my eyes/ears opened to the reality and I didn’t like what I saw. I’m now non-Christian and yet I probably walk a more Christian path than many of those who read their bibles every day and go to church on Sundays to pray for those who THEY judge to be sinners.

Katie-Anne (who will now go and berate herself for going against her own rules and judging others! :))
