Florida’s Gay Adoption Ban
Although one case has been won against Florida’s gay adoption ban, there are still many cases to go. Just because one person won his case does not cause the same ruling to be good for the next couple. The court has a few other cases that need to be heard. It seems as if other cases where gay parents want to adopt will have to take the case to court to have the same ruling.
The cases should see a ruling overturning gay adoption bans, but that does not say that people or officials are not going to try to ban gay adoptions again. Florida is in for a long bumpy ride, but there should be enough people to keep gay adoptions open to gay persons. Florida has a ban against gays adopting since 1977. Mississippi is the only other state to have a gay adoption ban.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don’t get it. I mean, I would think that placing a child with anyone who is loving and will give them a stable home would be a good idea. There are so many kids without anywhere to go, and they play these kinds of games with the kids? This is was p*sses me off with the way the foster care and adoption systems work in this country. They are SUPPOSED to be about the welfare of the child. The welfare of the child is giving them stability, love and a chance at a good life. Pulling all this crap does the opposite. When a child is adopted and then ripped from that home because those performing the legalities didn’t dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s, they forget that this is all about the kid, not about what the parents want or who the fosters/adoptive parents are.
I’m getting my blood pressure up. It’s just makes me so mad!
