California Proposition 8

Published by blondiewrites at 12:11 pm under Same Sex Marriages Edit This

The long anticipated answer to California’s Proposition 8 is going to have to wait possibly another day. The state has reported that there are still close to 4 million absentee votes that need to be counted and because of the nature of this bill, they cannot say whether the vote is for or against gay marriages. I for one think that they need to take their time and make sure everything is counted correctly.

As of right now, the vote is so close that the state of California needs to take time even though we are awaiting the news. Gay couples that are legally married in California are waiting with anticipation to hear the news. This is the hardest part. If the bill passes, it will be another long process to gain equal rights for anyone in this country.

That does not mean we will give up.

I’m glad to be in Canada, married to my woman. ;) I can only hope for the best in America for same sex marriage.
