Man Talks About Being Beat For Being Gay

This is why we need hate crime laws. Sarah Palin does not think this is important, but then again, she probably only watches herself on TV. See what the cops say and the reporters.

Be Proud Of Who You Are

Gay and lesbian people should be proud of who they are no matter what. Just because you are gay or lesbian does not make you any less of a person. It does not make you different from me or any other person in the world. Sexual orientation does not make you strange because everyone is different in some way. That is why the world is so diverse. No one person is the same.

Be proud of who you are and stand up for your rights. If every gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender person would stand up and fight for what is theirs, acceptance would have to be the only answer. No one has the right to take equality away from anyone no matter what their sex, gender, age, religion or sexual orientation is or is not. Be proud and tell the world that you are gay and proud.

Same Sex Marriage Timeline Part 2

April 2004

Oregon ordered a stop of gay marriages in Multnomah County. However, they told the state to recognize the same sex marriages already performed, which was about 3,000.

California’s bill allowing same sex marriages passes the Assembly Judiciary Committee, but needs to pass the full Assembly and then it can be sent to the Senate.

Four Supreme Judicial Court judges that were the majority in the Goodridge case were ordered fired by the lawmakers in Massachusetts.

The Governor’s top legal counsel wants the judges to resign if they will not perform same sex marriages.

Legislators in Massachusetts, thirteen of them, filed suit because they said the Supreme Court did not have the right to legalize same sex marriages.

May 2004

A Federal judge ruled against the attempted block of same sex marriages in Massachusetts.

Boston’s U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals refuses an appeal to block same sex marriages, but did agree to hear the case again in June.

In Massachusetts, the U>S Supreme Court refuses to block clerks from giving out same sex marriage license.

Forty same sex couples were married by 3 pastors in Phoenix, Arizona. This was an act of defiance because ministers cannot marry any couple without a license. It is illegal.

On May 17, 2004, same sex couples began to wed in Massachusetts.

July 2004

The City Council in Takoma Park, Maryland passed a resolution for and in favor of same sex marriages.
.
All charges against ministers in New Paltz, New York were dropped. They were arrested for performing same sex marriages without marriage licenses.

The US Senate voted to block all amendments to the constitution to ban same sex marriages.

Federal Courts cannot overturn any parts of the Defense of Marriage Act. The US House of Representatives approved this.

What Do You Do When A Christian Comes Out

What do you do when a Christian comes out? Do you think about ways to convert them? Do you find the nearest bible and pray for them? Do you try to talk them out of living this kind of life? Do you simply forget about it and go on as you have as friends?

Most people will tell you that you cannot be gay and a Christian. This however is wrong. As long as you believe in a God, you are a Christian no matter what your sexual preference is or is not. There is no way to pray a gay to be straight. Although some will tell you that this is possible, it is not.

Acceptance is the only answer. Never judge someone for being who they are or you are not a Christian. This the bible tells me so. People who judge others are not practicing their religion the way they should. Lesbian kissing or gay kissing is not for you to judge or watch for the fact. If a straight couple would kiss in front of you, would you stare and judge?

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. There is no one on the earth that is pure and free of any sin. Everyone has their flaws and have no room to judge anyone else. People that judge are the ones that have something to hide. Think about it?

Wisconsin Church Terminates Music Director For Being Openly Gay

A Wisconsin Catholic church has terminated the employment of Charles Philyaw for leading an openly gay life. He was hired by the church in 2004 and for four years played a key role in the church. The church has a membership of over sixteen hundred adults, but only five had a problem recently with the openly gay life that Philyaw was leading.

The important thing here is that now the church is divided because the majority of the members felt this was wrong. There are long time friends in the church that are at odds with each other because of the termination. Over one hundred church goers signed a petition requesting that the church reinstate Philyaw to his position with the church.

Wisconsin has a anti-discrimination clause that says no one can be fired or not hired to a job because of their sexual orientation. However, this does not apply to the church because it is their First Amendment right not to have a gay person in a position of leadership if they practice an openly gay life.

The sad thing is that Philyaw was honest with Timmerman before his hiring and told him that he was gay and in a relationship. He was still hired to lead the liturgy committee, direct the choir and play for Masses weekly. Nevertheless, the Catholic Church still considers gay as being a disorder. They feel that even if you are gay, you must sustain from a relationship.

One member said a mouthful when she said that she was disappointed that people would concern themselves with the private lives of others. She went on to say that, no one knows what goes on in his or her home. They might have a platonic relationship. She also said that people should look at their own lives and maybe put their lives out for discussion. She said that people should not be throwing stones. Her husband said that he does not know what gives people the right to pass judgment about another person.

Philyaw and his partner now face a future of losing their home to foreclosure because Philyaw has a new job with low pay and no benefits working for a temporary agency. People of the church are divided. They have lost a friend and a fellow member. He opened their eyes and they learned from him. They accepted him.

Chicago To Build A School For Gay Students

Chicago has decided to build a school for gay students to avoid any problems within the school system among gay and straight students. I am not sure if all parents and students promote this idea, but does going backwards with segregation really solve anything? Shouldn’t schools promote acceptance and peace instead of segregation? The school system should be looking for a way to promote equality instead.

It is starting to look as if home schooling is the only way for children to get an education and learn about how to accept people for who they are instead of being taught the opposite in the public school systems. That is the problem with the world today. Instead of looking for ways to encourage acceptance and promote respect, they look for the easy way out. Back to the old days of segregation for gay students in Chicago, Illinois.

Do you think segregation is a healthy way to raise children?

Blog Talk Radio Gay Discussion

Blog Talk Radio will have a discussion going September 7, 2008 at 7:00 PM. The show is scheduled to last one hour and should be informative. The number to call is 347-677-0774.

The hot topic will be – Is it more accepting to be a lesbian than a gay male?

The show will be talking about the pros and cons of being a gay make verses a lesbian. It should be quite interesting to listen to and see what the speaker has to say.

I do think it is easier to be a lesbian than it is to be a gay man in our society. That being said still does not make it right. Ones sexual orientation should be no one else business but the people in a relationship. Whether a person is a gay man or a straight man should not be a discussion. Unfortunately, it is and will continue to be a hot topic.

I am hoping to make the talk show as soon as I find out the time zone for the 7:00 PM call.

Thoughts About Being Gay

Being gay does not mean you have to suffer or hide your sexuality. Being gay is about loving yourself and being true to ones own self. Hope, happiness and optimism is what you need.

As long as you are happy with yourself, you can have a happy life. Being gay does not mean that you have to live a life that is subjected to hate and discrimination. As you accept your sexuality, others will accept you.

Those who choose to ridicule and show discrimination are the ones who will suffer the loss. Heterosexuals that show malice toward another, pay in the end no matter how religious they may be.

Trusting your own judgment about your sexuality and acceptance of who you are is the only thing that matters. After that, the rest is easy.

Friendships are important, but being yourself is the most important thing that is needed. True friends accept you for who you are and not who they think you should be.

Be yourself. Be gay and live a happy life. Never listen to what others think. Only listen to your heart and you will know more than anyone else does.
