Be Proud Of Who You Are

Gay and lesbian people should be proud of who they are no matter what. Just because you are gay or lesbian does not make you any less of a person. It does not make you different from me or any other person in the world. Sexual orientation does not make you strange because everyone is different in some way. That is why the world is so diverse. No one person is the same.

Be proud of who you are and stand up for your rights. If every gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender person would stand up and fight for what is theirs, acceptance would have to be the only answer. No one has the right to take equality away from anyone no matter what their sex, gender, age, religion or sexual orientation is or is not. Be proud and tell the world that you are gay and proud.

What Do You Do When A Christian Comes Out

What do you do when a Christian comes out? Do you think about ways to convert them? Do you find the nearest bible and pray for them? Do you try to talk them out of living this kind of life? Do you simply forget about it and go on as you have as friends?

Most people will tell you that you cannot be gay and a Christian. This however is wrong. As long as you believe in a God, you are a Christian no matter what your sexual preference is or is not. There is no way to pray a gay to be straight. Although some will tell you that this is possible, it is not.

Acceptance is the only answer. Never judge someone for being who they are or you are not a Christian. This the bible tells me so. People who judge others are not practicing their religion the way they should. Lesbian kissing or gay kissing is not for you to judge or watch for the fact. If a straight couple would kiss in front of you, would you stare and judge?

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. There is no one on the earth that is pure and free of any sin. Everyone has their flaws and have no room to judge anyone else. People that judge are the ones that have something to hide. Think about it?

Chicago To Build A School For Gay Students

Chicago has decided to build a school for gay students to avoid any problems within the school system among gay and straight students. I am not sure if all parents and students promote this idea, but does going backwards with segregation really solve anything? Shouldn’t schools promote acceptance and peace instead of segregation? The school system should be looking for a way to promote equality instead.

It is starting to look as if home schooling is the only way for children to get an education and learn about how to accept people for who they are instead of being taught the opposite in the public school systems. That is the problem with the world today. Instead of looking for ways to encourage acceptance and promote respect, they look for the easy way out. Back to the old days of segregation for gay students in Chicago, Illinois.

Do you think segregation is a healthy way to raise children?

Blog Talk Radio Gay Discussion

Blog Talk Radio will have a discussion going September 7, 2008 at 7:00 PM. The show is scheduled to last one hour and should be informative. The number to call is 347-677-0774.

The hot topic will be – Is it more accepting to be a lesbian than a gay male?

The show will be talking about the pros and cons of being a gay make verses a lesbian. It should be quite interesting to listen to and see what the speaker has to say.

I do think it is easier to be a lesbian than it is to be a gay man in our society. That being said still does not make it right. Ones sexual orientation should be no one else business but the people in a relationship. Whether a person is a gay man or a straight man should not be a discussion. Unfortunately, it is and will continue to be a hot topic.

I am hoping to make the talk show as soon as I find out the time zone for the 7:00 PM call.

Lesbian Kiss Results In One Month In Jail

Dubai Beach in the UAE is no place for a lesbian kiss or you could go to jail for one month. Yes, a lesbian kiss on the beach in public has put two women in jail for one month because someone called the police to inform them the couple was kissing. Just a few months prior to the lesbians kissing, a man and a woman were arrested for having sex on the beach. They are still awaiting trail and face six months in jail and a fine followed by deportation.

I guess you cannot kiss on the beach in the UAE and if you do, you could go to jail for it.

Del Martin Dies Wednesday August 27

Del Martin died Wednesday at the UC San Francisco Medical Center hospice after her health deteriorated after breaking her arm two weeks earlier. Del was 87 years old and had married her long time partner Phyllis Lyon on June 16, 2008. They were the first same sex couple to marry after the 2004 ban on gay marriages was upheld by the courts.

Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon were the founders of the Daughters of Bilitis back in 1956 with six other women. They were always in the news for their fight for equality for same sex couples. California would not be were it is today if it had not been for Del and Phyllis.

The couple had married in 2004 in a ceremony preformed by Newsome, who challenged the marriage laws, preformed, and issued over four thousand gay marriage licenses. Those marriages were invalid according to the Supreme Court. Del and Phyllis along with several other couples filed a lawsuit against California, which resulted in the court overturning the Supreme Courts 2004 ruling against same sex marriages, thus allowing gay couples to marry starting June 16, 2008.

It was only right that Newsome marry Del and Phyllis again on June 16, in a small ceremony in his office. Supporters cheered outside as the two women were pronounced legally married. It was a happy day for Del and Phyllis who have been together for over 55 years. They were lesbian activists that worked hard to get support for the gay community.

Del Martin was part of a group that worked to lobby against harassment by police and modify the unbelievable laws that said homosexuality was criminal. This group was the Counsel on Religion and the Homosexual. Del was also the leader in an effort to have the American Psychiatric Association take homosexuality off the list of mental disorders.

Del and Phyllis co-authored the book, “Lesbian/Woman” in 1972. Del also wrote a book called “Battered Wives” in 1976. The two of them were active in many groups and worked hard for what they believed in.

Del was born May 5, 1921. Her name was Dorothy Taliaferro. She married James Martin and had one daughter Kendra. Her daughter, one granddaughter and son-in-law survive her. Del is also survived by one sister-in-law and her beloved Phyllis Lyon.

Del will be deeply missed by the community and all those who lives she touched in her many years as a lesbian activist.

Thoughts About Being Gay

Being gay does not mean you have to suffer or hide your sexuality. Being gay is about loving yourself and being true to ones own self. Hope, happiness and optimism is what you need.

As long as you are happy with yourself, you can have a happy life. Being gay does not mean that you have to live a life that is subjected to hate and discrimination. As you accept your sexuality, others will accept you.

Those who choose to ridicule and show discrimination are the ones who will suffer the loss. Heterosexuals that show malice toward another, pay in the end no matter how religious they may be.

Trusting your own judgment about your sexuality and acceptance of who you are is the only thing that matters. After that, the rest is easy.

Friendships are important, but being yourself is the most important thing that is needed. True friends accept you for who you are and not who they think you should be.

Be yourself. Be gay and live a happy life. Never listen to what others think. Only listen to your heart and you will know more than anyone else does.

Hallmark Under Fire From The AFA

The other day I posted about Hallmark making wedding cards for the gay marriages. I believe I said we would have to see who had a problem with this latest development. Well it only took the American Family Association a couple of days to start a boycott of Hallmark. Yes, Hallmark is now another one of the companies that you should not use because they make a card for gay couples.

Once again, I will say the same thing. People love Hallmark cards and gifts and will not stop buying them just because the AFA tell you to boycott the company. Has the AFA not learned anything over the years? These companies are not going to succumb to extortion or blackmail. Yes, telling Hallmark to stop making the cards or come under a boycott is blackmail.

What surprises me is that this so called group can get away with trying to blackmail companies to do what they want. Isn’t it a federal offence to blackmail someone?

Blackmail- to force or coerce into a particular action, statement, etc

Sp, there you have it. The AFA is trying to blackmail these companies into thinking, acting and obeying what they believe in. They are breaking the law. Why does the government allow them to continue with this blackmailing scheme when a company does not meet their particular standards?

I can see boycotting a thing or object that is harmful or that could kill you. Nevertheless, to blackmail a company into thinking the way you do, is just wrong. Keep going strong Hallmark. You are going to make money selling gay marriage cards. Keep up the good work.

Will you leave your comment in support of Hallmark?
